Well I didn't get to Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult. I ended up reading The Birth of Venus by Sarah Dunant and The Green Mile by Stephen King instead. Both were really good.

The Birth of Venus was about a young girl who marries to escape her family home and allow her to paint. She has an affair with a young painter. It is sent in the Renaissance (artists were virtually celebrities back then). She ends up living in a nunnery. Easy read.

The Green Mile is a novel in 6 parts and was a very easy read. Very sad story and I loved the movie.

I just started The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo today - it is a great read as well.

Just finished reading "The Ballad of Typhoid Mary". Thought the book was an interesting look as a very infamous woman. I almost felt sorry for her as there was nothing she could really do. With her talents as a cook she had no trouble getting getting work - unfortunately that led to the deaths of a number of people, plus countless being sick.

One of the really chilling stories in there was a family that hired her knowing that she carried typhoid. They did this because they had a child with a disability and they believed that for the child to die of typhoid was a better way to go than allowing them to live. I thought that was quite sad really.

I am hopefully going to finish "Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Picoult this weekend (although I am moving so you never know).
